I’m Amber…

Amber Badger - Yoga Teacher Southampton

These little introductions are always INCREDIBLY awkward, aren’t they? But I’m going to give it my best shot. I’m Amber, and I’m your very laid back, very curious and very obsessed with her German Shepherd (giant) puppy yoga teacher. I like to think that my classes are that yummy balance of soulful exploration with genuine laughter and joy. There’s a huge chance that I will turn up to class with Christmas socks (which will undoubtedly be odd) and that the emotions brought up while we’re together will cross from happy tears to cackling laughter. I’m also a professional writer, and so I love weaving magical words into my classes. I’ve also been called the Queen of Savasana (I know right - I’m going to put that on a business card) and have even had my class playlists played at dinner parties. Consider my trumpet tooted.

Movement and me…

I’ve always adored movement. As a wee one, I would spend evenings and weekends dancing competitively. This was my way to express myself; my means of truly letting go. As I shifted into adulthood, my love of dance continued, but alongside it something else arrived: yoga.

Yoga came to me when I needed it the most. Nursing my first heartache and coming to terms with a newfound understanding of my lifelong mental health struggles, yoga found a way to bring me back home: both spiritually and literally. I had spent two years living in Italy and Australia before returning to the UK with little more than a phone full of memories and my yoga mat.

Now, yoga is so much more than a hobby: it’s a way of life. It supports my emotional and physical body and helps me stay connected to myself, even throughout challenging times.

How I got here…

I completed my 200hr yoga teacher training with Laura Green Yoga Teacher Training School in 2022 and started teaching my own classes from August of that year. In March 2022 I also co-hosted my first creative wellbeing residential retreat in Dartmoor alongside two other incredible women, and in 2024 I hosted my first solo weekend retreat in North Devon (a delicious combination of yoga, aerial and mindful writing).

I’m a thirsty gal, and I’m constantly striving to better and expand my knowledge of yoga. I have completed CPDs in nidra, rest and somatics, size-inclusive teaching, ayurveda and dosha inspired teaching and advanced meditation. I am also a qualified aerial yoga teacher and teach weekly classes in this discipline.

My mat-based classes are now predominantly rest based (with yin, restorative, somatic movement, pranayama and nidra), but during retreats you will also find creative vinyasa and hatha classes.

  • I attend Thursday aerial yoga class with Amber and her passion for yoga really shines through.

I am so grateful for her support, encouragement and words of wisdom , that I come away totally recharged, calm and relaxed .I can totally recommend trying aerial yoga with her, no matter what your ability in yoga is.

  • I recently went on Amber's yoga, aerial yoga and it was the perfect weekend.

Amber created a beautifully safe space for us all to let go, unwind and be vulnerable, as well as guiding us through gorgeous classes that were the perfect mix of energising and restorative.

  • Amber is a beautiful soul and so friendly. You feel right at home straight away in her classes.

Amber's classes are full of fun and laughter, ending on a very calm and happy note. I always come away feeling lighter and happier. I can't wait to get to class each week. I love every moment.

  • When I tell you, you won’t find a better yoga teacher than Amber I truly mean it.

She is so knowledgeable and instantly makes you feels at ease when you walk into a class. You can tell that so much thought and love goes into each of her classes. I highly recommend getting yourself to one of her deep rest classes because it’s the most magical experience.
